One timing method is not best for every sport, just as one athlete is not best at every event. TMK built the Active system for high speed.
About the A400
The A400 is the main Active decoder. It has been used in swimming, skating, triathlon, cycling, karts, motorcycles and drones, up to 150 km/h and 0.001 second.
Like the F800, it is one piece in an orange Pelican case.
Open it and the face is a small biomimetic dragon. Under that, two active frequencies: a ground loop at the low frequency, and an omnidirectional high-gain antenna at the high frequency. It rejects interference, shows battery level on an LED, runs on the internal battery or external power, and has a wireless module and a network port.
Its partner is the PowerTag, 15 g, worn anywhere. The sealed case takes shock, water and heat. A battery, two chips and an antenna wake on the low frequency and transmit on the high one. It sleeps between events, charges wirelessly, and one charge lasts three to five years. The tag can be taken back and reused.
